Now, Britannia High is on the list of tv show I have to download. Hm.. it’s a musical - people said that it is a rip-off of HSM, but I don’t care. Some songs are good. The plot is okay, the dance move is kinda cheesy. I wasn’t entertained much by the second episode. But the third episode was very good.

I show it to Zeah last nite.

I love this particular song - Proud, sung by that kid to his father who was a businessman and didn’t allow his kid to do performing arts in Britannia High.

Zeah said, ‘then, his father watches the performance and changes his mind?’

‘No, he didn’t’.

The lyrics can be interpreted ‘cheesily’ as some romantic/lovey-dovey genre but this song is actually a dedication from Pierre (the lead singer) to his brother who was battling cancer few years ago. Anyway, there’s nothing much interesting to share in here. Sejak aku dan parents aku ke York pada 28hb lepas, dah lebih 10 hari emak dan abah tak ke mana-mana. Aku recover balik study yang terslow waktu turun London dan minggu tersebut.

Cuaca minggu ini pulak agak muram. Sejuk jer memanjang. Aku pun tak dapat nak entertain parents aku sangat. Cuma tiap-tiap malam, aku buka la Buletin Utama. Nasib baik tv3 duk update daily diorang punya rancangan dalam web, so boleh la jugak tengok. Semalam aku download Majalah 3 minggu lepas dan convert ke format video yang boleh dimainkan di Wii. Jadi bolehlah main kat TV. Sebenarnya kalau terus main kat komputer, tak payahlah bersusah-susah, cumanya aku rasa tak berapa puas sangat dengan kualiti suara laptop aku. Jadi kalau play di TV, jelas la sikit la suara. Terasa macam tengok TV Malaysia la sikit.

Other than that, abah dan mak duk call-call juga Malaysia. Ari tu call mak sedara aku; ayah aku dah call Pak Teh aku (adik ayah aku) dan baru tadi berwebcam dengan kak aku. (gambar) Anak-anak murid dia ada gak kat rumah so meriahlah rumah.

Oh, malas nak share awal-awal, tapi salah satu sebab tak berjalan mana dalam seminggu lebih ni sebab nak simpan duit dan juga make sure bleh cover study sebab 12hb kitorang bersepuluh nak pergi Amsterdam.

Short vacation jer. Pergi 12hb, Selasa, petang, tido malam dalam kapal laut; 13hb sampai pagi, jalan-jalan pusing Amsterdam dan petang tu jugak balik semula ke Newcastle Port. Pastu 14hb sampai.

Ah, lagi satu, aku jugak banyak spend masa sekarang ni menulis. Giler dah lama tak menulis cerita, tapi sekarang idea dah ada untuk the whole story, so cuba-cuba nak tulis novel pendek. For self-pleasure jer but who knows..

This is my soundtrack for whenever I board a plane. And mom and dad’s gonna will be aboard in 1 hour (for Penang - KL flight), so I kinda remember this song suddenly.

Seriously, I’m excited and nervous. I really hope that everything is smooth. I can’t do much today. I mean, I did quite a lot - pick up Mahadi in the town, play frisbee, and cooking, but whenever I had a free time, it is my time to keep thinking of ma parents.

Darn, now I understand when parents keep worrying about their children’s safety. I’m feeling it now. I guess it’s kinda overconcern, or being a lil bit overprotective.

Mahadi made a joke when I told him about what I’m thinking. He joked, ‘Takpa, depa kan dah besaq …’.

Haha.

Dua tiga hari kebelakangan ni, aku bertegur sapa dengan kenalan-kenalan di Malaysia yang aku jarang-jarang bersembang. Shila dan Kimi cerita fasal diorang punya updates dan tarikh konvo. Aku ingat bulan nih, tapi lepas aku telefon Pidin, baru aku tau yang bulan depan rupanya.

Pastu Ain (x-SMKCFB), Ira (anak murid kakak aku, bekas budak SMK Labu Besar) dan Mahfuzah (debat-USM) tanya-tanya khabar. Tak sempat nak jawab kat Ira sebab connection problem, Mahfuzah plak sebab aku dah tido waktu tuh. Ain tanya fasal PhD.

So here’s the story for them:-

Dah 3 bulan dah kat UK, semuanya baik-baik belaka. Walaupun namanya musim panas, tapi cuaca kadangkala sejuk.

Hari ni Mahadi (x-SMK Merbok, MSc Physics kat Dundee,Scotland) sampai kat Durham nih, untuk sama-sama turun ke UK menjemput parents aku yang InsyaAllah sampai pada Isnin, jam 9 malam waktu UK.

Pastu konvo hari Rabu kat Brunel University, dekat pinggir London.

Life here is good.

But PhD is kinda scary.

Satu benda yang tak berapa best fasal PhD ialah aku tak tau kat mana aku skarang (takde silibus macam undergrad). Sama ada laju, biasa atau slow. Sure tak laju, tapi harap-harap tak slow. Cukup atau tidak, tu antara benda yang aku tanya pada diri sendiri. Yang okey PhD ni sebab kita boleh ikut kelajuan sendiri pada peringkat awal-awal nih. Tapi sooner or later, kena pick up pace gak. At least supervisor aku banyak membimbing, so okey la.

So ma parents gonna be here for 8 weeks. Balik bulan September. Whoa. Agak lama jugak tu. Aku bagitau kat kakak aku, ‘I ‘am’ nervous, it is like all of the responsibilities is under me, and they are gonna be in UK.’

My sis was laughing, taunting me with, ‘haha, rasakan!’

My write up

New thingy on the right bar. It is called ‘My write up’ box. Recently I’ve been using my blog quite frequently to track back my life - such as, when I moved in to new house when Amirul (my housemate) asked me or referring to my YM session with Kak Ina (Dundee) about how to make sambal; so I want to remind myself of how many write up had I done.

I went to a seminar about ‘Effective Writing of Thesis’, and the coordinator taught me of writing up lil by lil. So, that had been amount of what I had write so far. Hopefully it will motivate me to write up more:)

Fasa 2: Potong rambut

Hari ni kali pertama aku potong rambut kat UK. Dulu waktu kat Brunel, aku tak pernah potong rambut. Waktu balik Malaysia lepas 6 bulan, mak aku sempat adjust sikit sikit. So hari ni gi potong. Sebab dulu abang ipar aku pernah cakap, kalo nak konvo patut kena potong rambut, baru nice sikit pakai topi. Dan aku teringat gambar kawan aku yang konvo dengan rambut panjang - agak buruk; so aku pun nekad membayar 6 pound untuk potong rambut.

Dah genap 3 bulan aku kat UK hari ni, so takpela. Kiranya purata 2 pounds sebulan. Tapi kalau kira duk membazir kot benda lain..

So called summer. Semalam dan hari ni agak sejuk.

Weekend lepas aku abiskan dengan bermain Wii. Akhirnya aku dah dapat main Wii kat rumah. Remote takde sebelum nih, so tak dapat tukar channel ke video mode. Koman punya tv. Nama jer Toshiba, tapi nak tukar ke mode video pun nak kena guna remote. Terpaksa aku perabih duit beli remote control yg memang untuk tv nih. Universal remote control? Takleh pakai. Tak support model tv nih.

Tadi (semalam sebenarnya, tapi disebabkan aku tak tido lagi, perlukah guna semalam?), aku jumpa supervisor. Tapi tak sempat nak sarapan. Er.. bukan tak sempat, bangun tadi terasa malas nak makan. So, aku terus … [break call parents]

Alhamdulillah, mak aku dah macam okey. Ayah aku excited jer. Dia memang suka berjalan-berjalan nih. Dia macam tak risau pun fasal tak reti cakap omputih. Agaknya aku turun dia la bab-bab belasah jer jalan-jalan nih.

Mahadi, mak aku dah suruh hang masak apa-apa untuk bawak bekal turun London. Nanti bleh boh dalam peti ais dalam hotel. Oh ya, Mahadi akan ikut aku turun London untuk jemput parents aku.

Oh ya (lagi), aku punya konvo 16hb. One of the reason ma parents comin’. Tapi seriously aku tak excited bab tuh. Parents coming to UK, I gotta be more excited (+nervous) about that. Tapi aku agak melihat ke hadapan (looking forward) untuk berjumpa balik dengan kengkawan Jerman dan Austria aku + Udy dan Seimon. Ooh, suddenly a rush came thru, reminding me of my life back in Brunel. Ooh, tetiba terasa rindu kat rumah lama kat Albert Road, tetiba terasa rindu mengayuh basikal di dalam kedinginan musim sejuk, tetiba terasa sejuk makan kepak ayam 3 ketul 1 pound dengan nasik siap masak, tetiba terasa rindu menyinggah kat Tesco Metro dekat rumah aku dulu, tetiba rasa rindu lepak-lepak kat bilik Chris, balik dari rumah Tahir lewat-lewat malam ~ aku yang nostalgik tetiba di kala 3.38 pagi.

Oh, apa yang aku stop sebelum call parents aku?

Oh, aku jumpa supervisor aku lagi hari ni (selalunya hari Khamis/Jumaat) tapi tak sempat abis bincang ari Jumaat lepas, so..

Hari ni aku duk berdiskusi dari kul 3.10 lebih kurang sampai 5.10 lebih kurang. 2 jam. Aku taklah kisah pun sebab perbincangan dengan dia menjana idea, tapi sebab aku tak sarapan/lunch, maka sedikit kebuluran rasanya.

Terus aku call Kak Nur, menagih simpati untuk makan. Kak Nur okey jer. Maka kenyanglah aku hari ni Kak Nur masak.
