Pagi Hari di Durham

Yusran macam risau tengok aku duk ulang-alik pergi perjumpaan persatuan. Tadi pergi perjumpaan Mooting Society. Sabtu gi perjumpaan Film Society.

Taak, nih fresher taster week. Perjumpaan pertama nih untuk orang-orang baru datang dan tengok persatuan tu. Kalau berminat, baru la join. Kalau tak bleh skip.

Mooting Society – er… aku ingatkan debat, tapi awal-awal dah tulis dalam handout yang diorang bagi – ‘mooting is not debating’. Terus aku mula hilang minat. Rupanya mooting society nih macam kat mahkamah. Style dia pun macam tu. Tapi diorang ada cakap fasal debate society.

Balik rumah terus aku cari. Rupanya yang tuh under Durham Union Society. Debat ala Parlimen. I’m so gonna join that.

Film Society is one kind of thing that I haven’t made up my mind yet. I’m not into film, scriptwriting and acting. I am so bad in acting to be honest. ‘Am, yang buat banyak-banyak video tu apa bendanya’, aku teringat Nawal (x-Mass Com USM) pernah cakap kat aku waktu aku kat Malaysia itu hari. Lain. Video-video tuh konsep reality tv – me being myself. It’s different.

One thing that I’m really interested in Film Society is video editing. There’s a huge opportunity of learning something new from there. But I keep worried of time it will takes. Video editing is very time consuming. Aku tolong edit video raya untuk Abang Afandi (Durham). Kak Ayu, (wife Abang Afandi) tanya, ‘susah ke edit video nih’. Terkebil-kebil sekejap aku mencari jawapan.

‘Tak susah’, aku jawab. ‘Time consuming ajer’. Kalau video log yang selalu aku edit, untuk 1 minit final product, aku kena spend 1 jam untuk edit. Sebab aku duk rajin memotong dan bagi lagu masuk kena dengan movie. Banyak gak faktor tambahan yang melambatkan sebab pc slow etc.

Anyway, let’s see what’s gonna happen about the film society.

In a way, I’m kinda feeling comfortable of joining and making myself extra busy. It’s kind of a good distraction.

Third time that I use ‘Restless’ as the topic of my blog.

Tido pukul 6.45. Bangun dalam kul 1 petang. Berjaga sepanjang malam buat programming. Tapi salah la pulak. Tu yang jadi restless tuh. Kalo berjaya, tak cukup tido pun macam semangat jer bila bangun.

Otak sedikit penat. Mujur takde drama-drama yang memenatkan kepala otak. Er.. macam nak ader, tapi aku opt out from it.

My current staple food is mi goreng. Rendam mi/maggi pastu goreng. Tak guna perencah berajinamoto. Just cabai dan kicap jer. Aku malas makan nasik. Sebab nasik kena masak 2-3 peringkat. Nasi dulu, pastu lauknya lagi. Ai..

Board game yang kitorang main skarang nih (buat sendiri). Dah 5-6 kali main, baru la aku menang akhirnya:D

Abg Amir tanya, ‘Lutfi ada tulis blog ke?’

Aku tersengih. Cerita fasal video log aku dalam Youtube dah tersebar luas dalam kalangan orang-orang Malaysia Bowburn. Semalam waktu kat rumah terbuka Abang Afandi, aku dah kena teased habis-habisan. Okey jer. Bukanlah kisah sangat pun. Lagipun video log aku tuh takde la apa-apa yang pelik-pelik.

Aku dah dapat email dari Durham punya persatuan debat. Ada first workshop hari Isnin nih. Pergi pergi. Dah lama cadang nak pergi. Sekarang baru diorang start sebab cuti musim panas hari tu. Tak berani nak cakap aku akan stay sampai habis term ataupun tak. Sebab Andros pernah cerita, yang diorang nih ada style lain-lain sikit. Misalnya persatuan rowing rasa diorang antara yang paling best. Debat lak banyak bebudak law Durham, so tak tau la macammana stylenya.

Join dulu, kalau rasa takleh get along, blah jer la. Lagi satu persatuan yang aku looking forward ialah Film Society. Na ah for the film scripting, casting or acting. More towards film editing. Kak Khalidah dah bagi nasihat supaya tak abai study. InsyaAllah.

Hari ni mood dah baik sikit:D

Uh, recently I’ve been feeling too much of negative energy. Yeah. Kinda feeling hatred and annoyed. Sometimes it is not even because someone’s fault. Astaghfirullah.

Hopefully I will regain the strength and feeling the positive vibe from the others.

Ah, aku dah tertiru style Zeah boh lirik-lirik lagu dalam blog. And yes Arni, that’s perhaps why I was kinda cruel in the board game – too much of negativity.

The Mole tak jadi buat minggu ni. So tengoklah macammana. Everyone is busy including me.

Aku berjaga 2 malam lepas buat board game. Aku tiru Mario Party (game DS, Wii etc) punya konsep. Semalam gi main kat rumah bebudak Brunei sampai lewat malam. Not bad. There is one point in the board game where we are going to play the minigame so that one player may get some advantages. That was the time we all will shout ‘game!!!’, and being honestly excited about it. I call it a success. Lol

There are a lot of things I call things I do as a success. Doing some games at my sis’s school. And when the contestants got eliminated go out crying – hm.. it is a success. Er.. translating a song and suddenly hearing other persons singing it loudly to my face (seperti Kimi (Debat USM) when I was back last time to USM, and Zeah (who keep singing my translated version of First Love)… hm.. I call it torturing then a success. Kinda feel muka-merah-padam but since my skin tone is not allowing me to have that particular effect, so it remains like it is.

Mom called when I was sleeping. Didn’t hear it at all. I call back after I woke up. Giler.. sekarang nih 3.35 dah masuk asar. Maghrib masuk kul 6.15. Masa siang dah semakin pendek. Tapi aku masih lagi tido lewat dan bangun bila dah masuk Zohor. Teringat Hairi (ex-Durham,dah balik Malaysia) cakap, dia mesti kena tengok ada cahaya matahari, supaya tak depress. Aku? Takpe. Tak tertekan, Alhamdulillah. Cuma tertekan bila bilik sejuk.

Heater aku pulak rosak dia punya termostat. Kalau tak dia ada timer, jadi haba tu tak keluar berpanjangan. Nih non-stop. So, sikit-sikit aku kena gi on, off, on, off. Terus aku masuk ebay cari plug remote control. Yes, there is such thing for lazy people like me. Dapat, dah beli. So, lepas ni bolehlah tekan jer dari sini.

Aku suka gaya penerangan barangan nih.

Picture the scene – You have just woken up in the morning and need a cup of tea. You turn the kettle on downstairs in the kitchen from a remote control whilst you lie in bed. You then get up to an instant cuppa – No waiting required!

Whoa, that is so like me.

Yusran cakap, daripada aku beli benda alah tu, baik aku pergi cari heater baru kat carboot (which is actually cost lesser than this). But there is one particular reason why I dun like carboot. Coz they do it early morning. Aah. Semalam tido lewat. Tadi ader rumah terbuka kat Keenan House. Tido, makan sedap? Tido, makan sedap? Tido, that’s it.

Sarapan di waktu tengahhari – cereal, lunch kul 10 malam – roti. Nih nak dinner pada jam 2.31am, maggi jer lah: That is the reason mom is so overconcern about me. Actually I am fine. Dun feel bad about myself at all (which is actually bad for not feeling bad coz it means that I don’t have any self-concern, if you know what I mean). I called mom today and suddenly she got the courage to ask me about my relationship matter. Er…

Today is quite interesting. Put aside the fact that I haven’t start studying since I woke up (but gonna do it soon enough. And surely coffee will be needed)

Free

Kak Shifa call aku dalam pukul 10 pagi. Dia minta tolong. Aku pun tak sure apa benda sebab separa mamai, tapi dia minta aku tolong drive kereta. Aku suruh jer datang immediately. One thing that Kak Nur amazed about myself is the fact that I can get ready pretty quick. 10-15 minutes notice from the state of ‘mamai’ness would be enough. And I do shampooing my hair and soaping my body. Why does it has to take loooong time for that? So Kak Shifa came.

Rupa-rupanya ada komputer percuma. Yes, FREE. Business school punya IT Service nak beli komputer baru, so diorang nak bagi CPU kepada mana-mana pelajar yang nak. Wah, apa lagi. Aku, Kak Shifa, Yusran, Zeah dan Kak Nur pergi amik beramai-ramai. Ustaz Hilmi penghulu kitorang pun pergi amik dalam sela masa yang lebih kurang sama. Takde software dalam tuh. Tapi hard disk 40GB dan Pentium 4 kalau tak silap.

And again, it is free. I’m still wondering how they can just give away like that. But perhaps the way that they think is that, they had already made money by this whole education stuff. It’s probably the way of giving back. Hm.. Nice. Walaupun takde monitor, tapi ader CPU baru:)

DSU

Durham Students Union ada buka booths untuk persatuan. Aku, Zeah, Kak Shifa dan Kak Nur pergi selepas dah amik komputer free. Dan aku dah register beberapa persatuan yang aku suka. One of them is Durham Film Society. Bukanlah sebab aku minat sangat film production. Coz I’m more into reality-tv real life capture rather than film acting kind of stuff. Tapi sebab bila aku jumpa dengan budak perempuan kat kaunter, kitorang bercakap bahasa yang sama, terus aku rasa yang aku patut join kelab nih.

Aku: Oh, I do some editing myself using Adobe Premiere

The Girl: Yeah, we have Adobe Premiere CS3 and that one is very good

Aku: Yeah yeah, I tried on that one and it’s amazing

The Girl: Here, we tried out some effects (sambil menunjukkan video). We have a huge room of green screen.

Aku: Ah, I also tried a green screen effects but I just buy a  green cloth and hang it.

The Girl: Yah, we are also doing that actually.

Hm.. looking forward for this club meeting. Aku cakap kat Zeah, ‘mana tahu Zeah, nanti kita boleh tengok mat saleh pulak nyanyi lagu raya’.

Rumah Terbuka

Abang Amir buat rumah terbuka hari ni. Lepas dah makan-makan suma, aku tolong mendukung anak perempuan dia dalam setahun lebih. Lama gaklah aku duk tolong baby sit sampai dah abis kena teased dengan tetamu-tetamu dia terutamanya Zeah.

Aku dah siap suapkan epal, bagi main handphone aku dan main-main sampai dia ada gelak sikit (nanti aku boh gambar bila Abg Amir bagi). Pastu aku bagi balik kat Abg Amir. Pastu aku gi dukung plak anak Kak Wan. Pastu aku bawak anak Kak Wan kat Abang Amir yang sedang dukung anak dia. Tetiba anak Abang Amir macam jeles dan nak suruh aku dukung dia. Giler, tetiba terasa best plak time tuh. Terpaksa aku bagi anak Kak Wan pada Zeah dan dukung anak Abang Amir by demand. Haha. (Ataupun anak Abang Amir nak suruh aku dukung dua-dua sekali, well, that’s another thought)

[Hm.. who's gonna leave comment saying 'it's about time for me to get married'?. Duh, I've been doing the babysitting things since... hm.. Darjah 6 (jaga anak sepupu aku) dan Tingkatan 1 (jaga anak kak aku). So, did I eligible to get married back then as well?]

Autumn

Musim luruh sudah tiba. Sejak raya hari tu, daun-daun depan kolej Ustinov sudah mula menguning. Maghrib sudah semakin awal. Sekarang dalam area 6.30 petang. Matahari terbit pukul 7.20. Hari dah semakin pendek. Mood pun sudah semakin.. hm.. terasa kesepian. Er.. not really but the weather kinda make it feel all cold, cloudy and dreadful.

The Mole

Aku baru jer lepas tunjuk The Mole USM kat bebudak Brunei + Kak Zila. Uh, reminisce my younger version of me with the video. Now I’m missing the players – Maharuddin, Nasuha, Ina, Nawal, Azua, Hakim, Halim dan Zulherly. Last time I checked, everyone of them are leading quite a good life.

But hey, we are going to do The Mole over here:D
